Lantern House

This is just a preview of the Lantern House. Additional photography and the complete project story will be shared in the coming months.

Designed for an entrepreneur seeking to seamlessly integrate work and home, the Lantern House reimagines urban living through carefully choreographed spaces that balance openness, privacy, and connection. Set within a renovated 1890s Chicago building on a long, narrow lot, the project transforms an existing structure into a highly personalized live/work environment tailored to the rhythms of contemporary life.

Rather than treating architecture as a collection of rooms, the Lantern House explores the thresholds between living, working, gathering, and retreating. Thoughtful interventions — including reimagining the central light well, custom architectural elements, and an emphasis on natural light — create a home that is both highly functional and deeply personal, demonstrating how adaptive reuse can support an entirely new way of living.
